Bob and Tamara Lopes
This is our passion, we have spent a lifetime learning the intricacies of training, of making a difference in a person’s life through the improvement of fitness and therefore health. We own a gym in Reno Nevada Named “American Iron Gym” this gym houses a community of friends and family. All on different paths, but learning still from each other in a supportive, non-judgmental environment, respecting and honoring each other’s individual path.
Bob and Tammy have lived and trained through the great era of bodybuilding in the 70’s, Bob was an assistant and head coach for the USA Women’s World Powerlifting team from 1989 through 1994, the World games in 1991, and the Russian Invitational in 1992. Tammy is a 7 time national powerlifting champion, and 6 time medalist in the IPF worlds, taking the world championship in 1993 in Jonkoping Sweden, and setting the Benchpress world record in 1994 in New Zealand.
That passion for training led to the gym business, and promoting healthy competition in the form of strongman and powerlifting events, while using the proceeds to assist youth at risk through their non-profit “American Iron Sports Foundation”
